Once part of the great forest of Middlesex, Hampstead is an area of London known for its artistic, musical and literary associations and for Hampstead Heath. It has some of the most impressive properties in the London area.  Hampstead is within the London Borough of Camden.

Cultural attractions in the area include the Freud Museum, Keats House, Kenwood House, Fenton House and the Camden Arts Centre.  Hampstead Heath is the largest attraction in the area covering 320 hectares (790 acres).  The Heath is rambling and hilly, embracing ponds, recent and ancient woodlands, a lido, playgrounds, and a training track, and it adjoins the stately home of Kenwood House and its grounds. The south-east part of the Heath is Parliament Hill, whose view over London is protected by law.

Hampstead is renowned for its local, village vibe, with welcoming shops and restaurants.  Independent stores, coffee houses and restaurants are mixed with chains creating an exciting environment.  Hampstead has a longstanding association with public houses and today you will still find beautiful pubs down meandering alleys.

Hampstead is on the Northern Line with fast connections in and out of London's Kings Cross Station.  Hampstead Heath is on the Overground, with Finchley Road and Frognal Overground a short walk away.

Hampstead has a large variety of private and state schools adding to the family friendly qualities of the neighbourhood.  Private schools include University College School for Boys and South Hampstead School for Girls, both of which are highly reputable schools with people willing to travel a great distance for a placement.

Hampstead property is diverse, ranging from large detached houses, to new build apartment blocks, and period blocks full of charm and character.  Many of the Victorian mansions were converted to apartments that have become extremely desirable, and in the Village the cottages are the most coveted properties.  Hampstead is known for its architecture and each building has a unique appearance.
