Knightsbridge Area Guide

An exclusive district in the West of London, Knightsbridge is world renowned for its shops, restaurants, hotels and luxury homes.

Originally a small hamlet outside the City of London, between Chelsea, Kensington and Charing, Knightsbridge was considered an unsavoury destination and popular with highwaymen, villains and rogues.  Today, it is home to Harrods and Harvey Nichols, and many designer flagship stores.  Visitors from around the world come to Knightsbridge to enjoy its charm.  Strangely, there is still a suburban feel within the friendly neighbourhood, with a strong social environment, local independent boutiques within secondary high streets, and leafy suburban areas.

Other local features include, world famous hotels such as The Mandarin Oriental, The Carlton Towers and The Berkeley, national institutions such as The Natural History Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum and the recently built One Hyde Park, known for having some of the most expensive apartments in London.

Knightsbridge is one of the most exclusive property areas in the world with many celebrities living here.  There are a number of excellent schools, places of worship, and strong transport links.  Knightsbridge houses its own station on the Piccadilly Line in Zone 1.
